RI and Italy Fashion Schools Agree to Strengthen Collaboration

Fashion school La Salle College Jakarta and Academia di Moda KOEFIA Italia have signed an agreement to strengthen collaboration through cultural exchange, creativity and handicrafts as well as fashion education. The event was held at the Indonesian Embassy in Rome. In a written statement received by the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, Saturday (6/11), it was stated that the signing was carried out by the founder of the La Salle College school, Poppy Dharsono and the Director of the KOEFIA Fashion School, Giovanni in Pasquale, together with the Director of Public Relations of the KOEFIA Fashion School, Bianca Lami.
The collaboration with the aim of strengthening the collaboration of the two fashion schools is expected to prepare young people who can create quality creative products and can take part in the international fashion field in the future. "The strengthening of cooperation in the economic and creative industries is in line with the International Year of Creative Economy program initiated by Indonesia at the 74th United Nations General Assembly to develop the creative economy industry for sustainable development," said Indonesian Ambassador to Italy Esti Andayani in her closing remarks at the event which was held in the 'Coffee Morning at the Embassy'. She hopes that the diplomatic efforts carried out by the Indonesian Embassy in Rome can continue to develop. "The Indonesian Embassy in Rome is always ready to facilitate stakeholders in various collaborations and collaborations between the people of the two countries," She added.

The founder of La Salle College Jakarta, Poppy Dharsono, said that strengthening cooperation with Italian fashion schools aims to further empower Indonesian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially in the fashion sector. This collaboration is also expected to encourage the empowerment of Indonesian women, considering that 64 percent of MSME actors are women. Considering that Italy also has a high quality of leather crafts, La Salle College also plans to open a new department, namely the division of handicrafts and leather industry to get the right guidance, in order to achieve international standards.
