Indonesian Tourism Ready for Foreign Tourists Arrival, Sandiaga Asks Tourist Villages to Prepare

Ahead of the reopening of national tourism, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) of the Republic of Indonesia, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno asked the tourism village managers to prepare themselves. It does not only cover services, but also aspects of health protocols through the implementation of CHSE (Cleanliness Health Safety Environment Sustainability) which is integrated with the Peduli Protect Application. This hope was conveyed by Sandiaga Uno when he handed over the award for the 50 best tourist villages to the manager of the Sesaot Tourism Village, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara on Wednesday (11/3/2021). On this occasion, he said that the arrival of tourists will directly restore the economy, especially for the local community. So that business opportunities and employment opportunities will be opened again for the community.

"This is our hope to restore the economy and create the widest possible employment opportunities," said Sandiaga Uno. Even so, Sandiaga Uno appealed to tourism village managers to also develop themselves for Nusantara tourists. The reason is because Nusantara tourists have a very large potential for visits. Moreover, NTB will host the Moto GP Mandalika, World Superbike and G20 events in 2022. "So there will be a lot of events that will take place in NTB. We hope that it will also be able to open opportunities for revival, the economy will move again and job opportunities will open," he said excitedly. However, he continued, the arrival of tourists must be in line with Covid-19 control. Health protocols and quarantine protocols must be obeyed in a disciplined manner by all foreign travelers, especially foreign tourists. They must have received a complete dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and undergo a three-day quarantine period upon arrival in Indonesia.

This he explained refers to the Circular Letter of the Task Force (Satgas) for Handling Covid-19 Number 20 of 2021 concerning International Travel Health Protocols during the Covid-19 Pandemic. "The key is that Covid-19 is under control. I hope that all members of the public who travel abroad and foreigners will comply with this provision," he explained. Simultaneously, the Regent of West Lombok, Fauzan Khalid expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. He hopes that the reopening of Nusantara tourism for foreign tourists can move the economy in NTB, especially West Lombok. Considering that Central Lombok has as many as 58 tourist villages with a variety of superior products, ranging from weaving, beaches, mangroves and others. "Thanks to the Minister, God willing, we in West Lombok together with the DPRD are very excited to develop tourism destinations in West Lombok, especially tourist villages," said Fauzan. "God willing, we will continue to develop this Tourism Village, because it has proven to be very beneficial for the community, especially traders and creative industry players," he added.
