Business actors are asked to understand and utilize the use of product origin information documents in export activities. So far, about 89 percent of Indonesia's exports have used information on origin. The Certificate of Origin (DKA) itself includes a certificate of origin (SKA) in the form of a form, an electronic SKA (e-SKA), as well as a Declaration of Origin (DAB). The use of documents will provide benefits of providing facilities for reducing or eliminating import duties to countries that already have a trade agreement with Indonesia. “One of the factors that can encourage Indonesian exports is our competitiveness in the market of destination countries, both in traditional and non-traditional markets. We continue to convey to business actors, exporters, and Certificate of Origin Issuing Agencies (IPSKA) so that they fully understand the provisions for issuing certificates of origin according to Indonesia's trade agreements with export destination countries," said Director of Export and Import Facilities at the Ministry of Trade, Marthin, as quoted from press release, Wednesday (3/11/2021).
Martin described the many benefits of DKA in foreign trade. First, DKA is useful for obtaining preferential tariff facilities in the form of reducing or eliminating tariffs. Second, DKA acts as an entry document for Indonesian export commodities to destination countries and prevents free riders. DKA is also used as a condition for disbursing letters of credit (L/C) and as a document to track allegations of dumping. In addition, DKA is a source of statistical data and repeat orders
In the January–August 2021 period, certificates of origin (SKA) have been used to export domestic products up to US$126.3 billion. This means that around 89 percent of Indonesia's total exports have used SKA. In January–August 2021, Indonesia's total exports to the world were recorded at US$142 billion.
