The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has expanded the logistics arrangement using the Single Submission Customs Quarantine (SSmQC) to Merak, Banten. This is done to support Presidential Instruction No. 5 of 2020 concerning the National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE).
According to Erwin Hariadi, Head of the National Single Window Institution (LNSW) Business Process Integration Sub-directorate at the Ministry of Finance, NLE is a tangible manifestation of the government's efforts to eliminate obstacles, increase the speed of goods flow, and encourage the reduction of logistics costs in international and domestic trade. "We are trying to simplify government services," said Erwin in a written statement, Tuesday, September 5, 2021.
By implementing the QC SSm supported by the collaboration of the Quarantine and Customs and Excise risk profiles, Erwin continued, business actors only need to submit data related to goods inspection through the Indonesia National Single Window (INSW) System. "Consideration of the risk profile that will determine the examination is carried out jointly between BC and Quarantine or carried out an independent examination by the relevant agencies," he said.
In addition to making it easier for business actors, said Erwin, the implementation of SSm QC also makes the submission process to the relevant Ministries/Institutions measurable because of the joint Standard Operational Procedure and service level agreement. "The implementation of SSm QC has proven to be able to streamline the time and cost of importing quarantine commodities," explained the Head of LNSW M. Agus Rofiudin on a separate occasion.
