Chief Economist of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Banjaran Surya Indrastomo stated that Aceh had a great opportunity to become the center of the halal industry in Indonesia.  "This opportunity must be utilized by the Aceh Government because it will be able to increase economic growth in the future," said Banjaran Surya Idrastomo in a webinar held by the Indonesian Cyber Media Network (JMSI) Aceh in Banda Aceh, Tuesday.  He explained that Aceh has a specialty in the form of privileges in carrying out Islamic sharia and is supported by the presence of the Qanun on Sharia Financial Institutions (LKS).  In terms of natural resources, Aceh has leading sectors for the development of the halal industry, namely the tourism, agriculture, education and health sectors.  

With the presence of the LKS Qanun, Aceh contributes to supporting eight percent of the sharia market share nationally.  "The integration of commercial and social aspects is the basic capital for this province to adapt as the basis for the economic ecosystem and the yard industry in the country," he said.  The workshop entitled the role and challenges of the media in strengthening Islamic financial literacy and the Qanun of Sharia Financial Institutions (LKS) in Aceh, the collaboration between JMSI Aceh and BSI which was opened by the Governor of Aceh Nova Iriansyah.  Also present were a number of presenters, namely Regional CEO of Bank Syariah Indonesia for the Aceh region, Wisnu Sunandar, Chairman of JMSI, Teguh Santosa and Head of the Education and Consumer Protection Subdivision of OJK Aceh, Moishe Sofian A. Sagir.
