Covid-Free Pass Required to Travel to Bali

Starting tomorrow, travellers to Bali will have to show and carry a "covid free" pass. The local authority notified it yesterday in an attempt to preserve "the island of the gods" from a new spike in coronavirus infections. Checks will be carried out  for all domestic flights, mainly at Ngurah Rai airport. The decision was made after many Indonesians had traveled to Bali due to the increase in cases of Covid-19 in the other islands, in particular in Java.

Until now Indonesians have been allowed to travel after taking the GenNose rapid test. Wayan Koster, governor of Bali, said it will no longer be accepted and everyone will have to present the new Covid- free pass. According to Koster, the new restrictions will make it possible to preserve the nation's most popular tourist resort from new infections, after, according to government data, about 19,000 people had moved to the island. Yesterday there were 9,900 new cases in Jakarta and nearly 21,000 across the nation. “This is why I am forced to impose these new restrictions, as requested by the Ministers of Transport, Health and the Sea,” commented Koster.
