On Monday, 25 May 2026, the Italian Business Association in Indonesia (IBAI), in collaboration with FAIP Advocates & IP Counsels as Knowledge Partner, held an Executive Breakfast and Focus Group Discussion on: “AI & Copyright: Legal Developments and Business Implications" from 09.00 to 11.00 WIB at Chill Lounge, JS Luwansa Hotel.

This session was a part of IBAI’s continued commitment to facilitating constructive dialogue between government institutions and the business community on emerging issues of significant legal and economic relevance.

The seminar opened with welcome remarks from H.E. Roberto Colaminè, the Ambassador of Italy to Indonesia, ASEAN, and Timor Leste, followed by opening remarks from the IBAI Chairman, Bapak Marco Noto La Diega. Then continued by Ibu Fortuna Alvariza, Managing Partner of FAIP Advocates & IP Counsels and Vice Chairman of IBAI as moderator to introduce the profile of the speakers.

The core of the event featured a panel discussion exploring AI through both corporate and regulatory perspectives and presented by:

1. Bapak Wahyu Jati Pramanto, S.H., M.H., an Associate Legal Analyst from the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) under the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia, discussed the legality and ownership of AI-generated works under current Copyrights Law, while providing updates on how these matters will be regulated in the upcoming draft amendment.
2. Ibu Seradesy Sumadi, S.H., Chief Legal Officer of L'Oréal Indonesia, first shared insights regarding corporate practices and internal policies surrounding the daily use of AI in business. 

The presentations transitioned into an interactive Q&A session where attendees engaged directly with the speakers. Afterwards, the moderator provided a comprehensive conclusion of the talking points, which led into the official closing remarks by IBAI Chairman Bapak Marco Noto La Diega, and His Excellency Roberto Colamine. The formal proceedings wrapped up with the presentation of a token of appreciation and a commemorative group photo session, before concluding the entire event with a networking lunch for all the participants.
