Insurance literacy and inclusion levels in Indonesia remain relatively low, with the 2025 National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion showing insurance literacy at 45.45% and insurance inclusion at 28.50%, significantly below the banking sector. At the same time, Indonesia has strong digital potential, supported by a large population, widespread mobile connectivity, and a highly active social media ecosystem dominated by young people. This digital advantage positions the younger generation as a key driver in spreading financial education through online platforms.
Responding to this challenge and opportunity, Generali Indonesia launched the Youth Empowerment Social Media Competition, encouraging young people and content creators to produce engaging educational content about financial protection and insurance. The competition, which began in October 2025, attracted thousands of participants from across the country. A total of 35 winners were selected, with total prizes reaching IDR 250 million. The initiative reflects Generali’s long-term commitment to improving financial literacy and inclusion by combining digital engagement, education, and collaboration with digitally savvy youth, aiming to build a more financially resilient and sustainable future across generations.
