Central Sulawesi is strengthening its regional economy by accelerating exports of leading local commodities, supported by improving logistics connectivity and growing international demand. Export performance in the region has shown a strong upward trend in recent years, reflecting increasing competitiveness of local products in global markets. A key driver of this progress is the operation of a direct shipping route from Pantoloan Port to China, which has significantly improved efficiency for exporters by reducing logistics costs and shortening delivery times.
Among the flagship export commodities, durian has emerged as a consistent product shipped directly to China, supported by export permits granted to several companies in Palu City and Parigi Moutong Regency. In addition, coconut products continue to show strong development potential despite price fluctuations. Looking ahead, export opportunities remain wide open for a broader range of commodities. Regional export growth is expected to expand beyond plantation-based products toward higher value-added industrial sectors, supporting sustainable economic development and long-term regional resilience.
