Government to Issue Minimum Floor Price Regulation for the Tin Industry

The Indonesian government is currently drafting a new regulation regarding the Minimum Floor Price (HPM) for tin to protect the national mining industry ecosystem. This policy aims to provide price certainty at the producer level and prevent extreme price fluctuations that could harm local small-scale miners. By implementing this price standardization, the government hopes to create a fairer and more transparent business environment within the tin mining sector. This strategic move is also intended to ensure that the added value of Indonesia's natural resources is optimally shared among all industry stakeholders.

For business players and association members, this HPM regulation is expected to protect against the risks of often volatile global market prices. The regulation also serves as an important instrument for supporting better mining governance and improving compliance with environmental and social standards. Furthermore, the establishment of a minimum price is expected to encourage increased investment in domestic tin processing technology to enhance product quality and competitiveness. Through this policy, the national tin industry is projected to have a stronger and more sustainable economic foundation to face international market challenges in 2026.
