Investment Minister Highlights Blended Finance as a Strategic Driver for AI Investment

Indonesia’s Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani emphasized the importance of innovative financing models, particularly blended finance, to support the country’s growing artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure sectors. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Rosan highlighted that the rapid global expansion of AI-driven computing demand presents both a strategic opportunity and a policy challenge. He noted that AI is increasingly positioned not only as critical infrastructure but also as a key engine for Indonesia’s future economic growth, requiring well-designed governance and sustainable financing frameworks.

Rosan explained that blended finance can effectively bridge public and private capital while aligning digital development with climate commitments and domestic capacity building. He added that global investors and international financial institutions are showing strong interest in public–private financing partnerships to accelerate scalable and sustainable AI infrastructure. To support this momentum, the government continues to strengthen the investment climate through regulatory simplification, integration of the Online Single Submission system, and incentives such as tax allowances and tax holidays for strategic technology sectors. These measures reflect Indonesia’s commitment to fostering long-term partnerships and attracting sustained investment to support advanced, high-capital industries.
