Indonesia views the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, as a major opportunity to attract green investment and strengthen its role in the global sustainable economy. The forum, scheduled for January 19–23, 2026, is expected to support Indonesia’s long-term development agenda by showcasing its progress in energy transition, green industry, and sustainable economic transformation. Experts highlight Davos as an ideal platform for Indonesia to engage global investors, philanthropies, and business leaders interested in financing environmentally friendly sectors.
The Center of Economic and Law Studies (Celios) emphasized that Indonesia can leverage the forum to expand partnerships in renewable energy, forest conservation, health services, and the battery ecosystem, while reducing dependence on conventional funding sources. Clear and consistent policy direction is seen as a key factor in strengthening investor confidence. Indonesia is also encouraged to use high-level engagements and bilateral meetings to promote cross-border cooperation and position itself as part of the global solution amid geopolitical challenges. With President Prabowo Subianto scheduled to deliver a keynote address, Indonesia aims to convert global interest into concrete, follow-up investment actions that support sustainable growth.
