The Halal Product Assurance Organizing Body (BPJPH) of Indonesia began 2026 by signing seven strategic cooperation agreements aimed at strengthening the national halal product ecosystem. These agreements include various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), Cooperation Agreements (PKS), and a Recognition Agreement with cross-sector partners, and were signed at the BPJPH building in East Jakarta on January 7, 2026. In the same event, BPJPH also awarded a Halal Examiner Accreditation Certificate to the Marine and Fisheries Product Testing Center, reinforcing the national halal certification infrastructure, especially in the strategic marine and fisheries sector.
BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan emphasized that multi-party collaboration is essential to strengthen halal product assurance in Indonesia, framing halal not just as regulatory compliance but as a strategic economic growth instrument. He highlighted the importance of transparency and traceability in halal standards, which build trust and can drive the national economy. The partnerships are also aligned with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives on prioritizing public welfare, job creation, and economic independence. Key partnerships include collaborations with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Good Fortune Halal Certification Service (Qingdao), universities (such as UIN Sjech M Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi and Universitas Padjadjaran), the Indonesian Halal Training Center at Universitas Indonesia, the Indigenous Entrepreneurs Association (HIPPI), and PT Indonesian Cloud—aimed at enhancing halal certification, education, and promotion across sectors.
