Indonesia remains optimistic about its trade performance, setting a strong export target of USD 315 billion for 2026 despite a slight moderation in growth momentum. Trade Minister Budi Santoso stated that exports are projected to expand by 7.09% next year, marginally lower than the 7.1% target for 2025, reflecting a higher baseline after robust gains in recent years rather than any weakening outlook. He expressed confidence that the 2025 target will be achieved, supported by export growth of 6.96% recorded from January to October, with total exports expected to reach USD 294 billion this year.
Looking ahead, the government forecasts a steady acceleration in export performance through 2029. Export values are projected to rise from USD 315.31 billion in 2026 to USD 340.20 billion in 2027, USD 370.04 billion in 2028, and USD 405.69 billion by 2029, with annual growth climbing to 9.64%. To realize these goals, the Trade Ministry is strengthening collaboration with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the Indonesian Exporters Association (GPEI) through business matchmaking and trade forums, enabling exporters to better leverage Indonesia’s international trade agreements and sustain long-term growth.
