Indonesia’s Trade Minister Budi Santoso has urged members of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to actively pursue opportunities in the European Union market as the Indonesia–EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) nears completion. With the agreement targeted for signing in early 2026, Budi emphasized that businesses must ensure their products are ready to meet EU standards so they can immediately benefit once the partnership takes effect. He encouraged Kadin members to participate in product presentations and pitching sessions coordinated with Indonesian trade representatives stationed across the EU, noting that these activities are expected to strengthen momentum for export growth.
Budi affirmed that Indonesia’s ten trade representatives in seven EU countries will assist businesses—including MSMEs—in identifying potential buyers in all 27 EU member states, supported by Indonesian embassies to streamline market access. Responding to the minister’s call, Kadin Chairman Anindya Bakrie expressed full commitment to maximizing the advantages offered by CEPA and other trade agreements. He stated that Kadin is “all out” in supporting export expansion efforts, underscoring the organization’s dedication to helping Indonesian enterprises compete effectively in international markets.
