Indonesia has launched the Indonesian Immigration Policy and Analysis Center (IMPACT) in collaboration with Udayana University to strengthen research-based immigration governance. Operating under the university’s Faculty of Law, the center will serve as a bridge between academic expertise and practical field needs, providing analytical support on issues such as visa misuse, nominee arrangements in property investment, and the management of foreign nationals from conflict areas. Immigration Director of Visa and Travel Documents Eko Budianto emphasized the importance of academic insights in enhancing oversight and policy quality.
The five-year partnership, effective until 2030, aims to elevate strategic studies and generate actionable recommendations for national immigration authorities. Udayana University Rector Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana highlighted that the center will enrich both academic and professional ecosystems by integrating immigration law into advanced degree programs, enabling practitioners to contribute as lecturers and examiners, and opening pathways for further education. This initiative is expected to strengthen human resource capabilities while offering meaningful contributions to public policy and societal development.
