As of September 2025, Indonesia’s exports of crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivative products have surpassed 25 million tons, marking a 13.4% increase compared to the same period last year. This export surge has generated significant foreign exchange revenue of USD 27.3 billion, reinforcing palm oil’s position as a top earner for the national economy.
Domestically, crude palm oil production has also grown strongly, with over 43 million tons produced by September 2025, an 11% rise from the previous year. Meanwhile, local consumption of palm oil has climbed from 17.6 million to 18.5 million tons, driven by food, oleochemical industries, and the government’s biodiesel programs. Industry leaders, such as GAPKI’s Chairman Eddy Martono, emphasize the need for stronger governance through ISPO certification and supportive biofuel policies to maintain competitiveness and sustainability.
