Jordan has extended a promising USD1.3 billion investment offer to Indonesia, focusing on gas pipelines, toll road development, and logistics facilities. The proposal was conveyed by King Abdullah II to President Prabowo Subianto during their bilateral meeting in Jakarta. According to Investment and Downstream Industry Minister Rosan Roeslani, who also leads Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Danantara, the gas pipeline project is valued at around USD1 billion, while the toll road initiative is estimated at USD300 million. Although the logistics project’s valuation has not been disclosed, it remains a key priority. Rosan stated that all proposals will undergo careful evaluation, noting that the projects align well with Danantara’s investment return benchmarks. As a follow-up, King Abdullah II has invited Danantara executives to Jordan in December 2025 to advance discussions.
Beyond these new initiatives, Indonesia and Jordan already maintain a strong partnership in phosphate-based fertilizer production through a USD250 million joint venture in Gresik, where Jordan holds a 50% stake. The venture currently generates around USD20 million annually for Indonesia, and both nations are looking to scale up operations to strengthen the fertilizer supply chain. Rosan emphasized Jordan’s strategic advantage as a gateway to Middle Eastern markets, while Indonesia could serve as a regional hub for Jordanian investment into Southeast Asia, reinforcing mutually beneficial economic ties.
