2026 Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week Exceeds Expectations with USD 19.51 Million in Deals

The 2026 Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) concluded triumphantly at Balai Kartini, Jakarta, recording total transactions of USD 19.51 million—nearly double its initial USD 10 million target. Trade Minister Budi Santoso highlighted that the event, held from November 6–9, 2025, demonstrated the growing strength and creativity of Indonesia’s modest fashion sector. Of the total, USD 15.30 million came from memoranda of understanding, USD 436,280 from fairground sales, and USD 3.77 million from business matching deals. Approximately IDR 122.23 billion (around USD 7.32 million), or 37.97% of the total transactions, were contributed by MSMEs, reflecting strong collaboration between designers, entrepreneurs, and government institutions in building a resilient modest fashion ecosystem.

The four-day event drew 11,459 visitors and showcased 242 Indonesian brands, attracting international buyers from Malaysia, Italy, Singapore, the UAE, Japan, and Sudan—demonstrating global interest in Indonesian modest fashion. JMFW also featured a fashion show highlighting regional collaborations supported by Bank Indonesia, the Creative Economy Ministry, and other partners. Trade Minister Budi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to positioning Indonesia as the global hub for modest fashion, while Bank Indonesia’s Imam Hartono emphasized the sector’s growing potential to drive national economic growth. Designers like Istafiana Candarini of “Kami” brand expressed optimism for future international partnerships, underscoring JMFW’s success as both a cultural and economic milestone for Indonesia.
