Indonesia Pavilion Opens at COP30, Showcasing Global Green Leadership

Indonesia officially inaugurated its Pavilion at the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, reinforcing its leadership in developing a high-integrity carbon market and advancing global green diplomacy. The Pavilion, led by the Ministry of Environment (KLH) and Environmental Control Agency (BPLH), serves as a collaborative hub for climate discussions, bilateral meetings, and innovation-sharing throughout the eleven-day summit. The opening was attended by the President’s Special Envoy for Climate and Energy, Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo, and Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, who emphasized Indonesia’s readiness to bridge global ambitions with real climate action.

With over 50 strategic sessions planned, including ministerial dialogues, CEO Talks, and the groundbreaking Seller Meet Buyer forum, the Pavilion provides a direct platform for carbon trading under Indonesia’s High Integrity Carbon Market Framework. This initiative carries an estimated economic potential of USD 7.7 billion annually and up to 90 million tons of carbon units for trade. Beyond carbon markets, the Pavilion highlights Indonesia’s cross-sector efforts—from forestry and renewable energy to waste management and green financing—supported by international partnerships such as those with the United Kingdom and the Royal Foundation. Designed with sustainability and cultural harmony in mind, the Pavilion symbolizes Indonesia’s vision of leading the world toward a low-emission and equitable future.
