Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, highlighted the significance of the 2024 Bali Spirit Festival in solidifying Indonesia's position as a wellness tourism destination within ASEAN, the Asia Pacific, and globally. He emphasized that last year's interactions paved the way for strengthening Indonesia's standing in wellness tourism, presenting opportunities for improved economic prospects, job creation, and boosting tourism and the creative economy. The Minister noted the promising global potential of the fitness and wellness industry, citing data from the Global Wellness Institute (GWI) 2020. The global wellness economy was valued at USD 436 billion, projected to reach USD 700 billion by 2023, with an annual growth rate averaging 20.9% until 2025.
The theme of the Bali Spirit 2024, "Come Together," symbolizes a celebration of unity in life's journey on Earth, as expressed by I Made Gunarta, the festival's founder. Gunarta expressed hopes for the festival to yield significant socio-economic impacts for the community. Bali Spirit Festival's Media & Sponsorship Manager, Dimaz Yogi Fawzi, outlined the event's diverse offerings scheduled from May 1st to 5th, 2024. It includes over 150 workshops encompassing yoga, dance, personal development, healing arts, martial arts, and performances by both domestic and international musicians during the Daytime Music & World Night Music programs. Additionally, the event features a healthy food bazaar and organic industry exhibition known as Dharma Fair. Fawzi emphasized the festival's aim to showcase Indonesia to the world, aiming to establish a world-class platform in Ubud, Bali, to enhance Indonesia's global recognition, making it more accessible to an international audience.
