The Central Statistics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BPS RI) has released economic growth data for Aceh in 2023, indicating a notable growth rate in Nagan Raya District at 7.57%. This surpasses both the national average growth rate of 5.05% and the provincial growth rate of 4.23%. Sardi, the head of BPS in Nagan Raya, disclosed these figures during the presentation at the Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPK) 2025-2045 and the Regional Development Plan (RKPK) 2025 meeting on Thursday, March 28, 2024. He highlighted the significant contribution of the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sectors, which grew impressively by 16.24%, accounting for 48.68% of Nagan Raya District's PDRB. Rahmattullah, the head of the Regional Development Planning Agency in Nagan Raya, emphasized that this growth exceeded the local government's target of 4.30% in 2023, marking the highest growth rate in a decade.
He acknowledged the efforts to maintain this growth trajectory despite the fluctuating economic conditions in the district, especially emphasizing the potential for further development in the processing industry given the ample availability of raw materials from agriculture and plantations. Fitriany Farhas, the Acting Regent of Nagan Raya, expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts between the local government, private sector, and community, which have contributed to the economic development achievements. She highlighted the significance of these achievements in fostering overall community welfare and reiterated the commitment to further enhance economic conditions for prosperity and well-being. Fitriany Farhas reaffirmed the local government's dedication to bolstering economic growth, particularly in the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sectors, aligning with the RKPK 2025 goals aimed at enhancing value addition through infrastructure provision and downstream activities in agriculture and fisheries to bolster economic self-sufficiency and alleviate poverty.
