Boosting Investment, Malang City's Disnaker-PMPTSP Optimistic about Achieving IDR 1.4 Trillion

The Malang City Government, through the Integrated One-Stop Service Investment Office of Manpower and Investment (Disnaker-PMPTSP), is intensifying efforts to seize investment opportunities, notably with the increased investment target for Malang City in 2024. Previously set at IDR 700 billion, the target has now doubled to IDR 1.4 trillion. Arif Tri Sastyawan, Head of Disnaker-PMPTSP Malang City, expressed on Wednesday (27/3/2024) that they are currently drafting an investment map, which holds considerable appeal for potential investors. Investment prospects in Malang City include culinary ventures, hospitality, restaurants, and housing, which remain favored options.

Arif emphasized the importance of both retaining existing investors and attracting new ones to further develop investment in Malang City. He stressed the significance of providing streamlined services for licensing and fostering communication with entrepreneurs to ensure not only investments but also proper reporting to the authorities. Several investment projects in Malang City are already underway, ranging from restaurants in various stages of construction to residential developments, with notable projects such as hotels already in progress. The addition of new 4 and 5-star hotels is anticipated to boost investment prospects significantly. Arif expressed optimism regarding the new investment target set by East Java Province. In 2023, despite the target being IDR 700 billion, Malang City exceeded expectations by reaching over IDR 2 trillion. He concluded by stating that with last year's success, this year's target is anticipated to surpass previous achievements.
