Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Tanjungpinang, represented by CV Rezeki Lautan Kepri, marked their inaugural export venture by shipping 13 tons of lola snail (Rochia nilotica) shells to Cat Lai, Vietnam, on Thursday (3/21). Departing via the Sri Bayintan Kijang Port, this export commodity amounted to USD 11,700 or reached IDR 182,449,800 in foreign exchange earnings. The snail shells are intended to be processed as raw material for making buttons for ready-to-wear clothing. Faisal Rusydi, Head of the Counseling and Information Services Section of Tanjungpinang Customs Office, who was present during the maiden export release, emphasized that the success of CV Rezeki Lautan Kepri's export marks a significant potential for MSMEs in Bintan Island to penetrate the global market. He expressed hopes for more MSMEs from the Riau Islands Province to explore export opportunities and expand their markets internationally, following the footsteps of other MSMEs.
"To support this endeavor, Tanjungpinang Customs Office remains committed to supporting MSMEs through the Export Clinic program," stated Faisal on Monday (3/25). Furthermore, he affirmed that the acceleration of export services to every MSME would continue. Faisal also emphasized that Tanjungpinang Customs Office does not impose additional charges on service users. "We aim to establish a customs process that is easily accessible to all businesses, especially MSMEs," Faisal emphasized.
