The District Government of Gunung Mas, through the Department of Agriculture, organized a "rembuk tani" event held in Tanjung Riu Village, Kurun District, on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Deputy Regent of Gunung Mas, Efrensia L.P Umbing, expressed hopes for the "rembuk tani" event as an acceleration and collaboration effort to synergize in enhancing agricultural sector production, reading a statement from Regent Jaya S Monong. Additionally, the event aims to boost acceleration and collaboration by mobilizing farmer groups, particularly millennial farmers, to engage in the agricultural sector, leveraging existing potential.
Aryantoni, Head of the Department of Agriculture of Gunung Mas District, mentioned that the "rembuk tani" event is a follow-up to the meeting on February 28, 2024, between the District Government of Gunung Mas and the Indonesian Young Farmers Movement (GEMPITA). In efforts to encourage farmer regeneration and support the Ministry of Agriculture's food self-sufficiency program, GEMPITA stresses the importance of youth involvement in land optimization, a strategic step toward advancing agriculture in Indonesia. Moreover, the "rembuk tani" activities are part of the implementation of programs to increase production, productivity, and quality of food crops, supported by government assistance under the Directorate General of Food Crops.
