Heading Towards a Globalized Local Gaming Industry, Indonesia Also Makes its Presence Felt at India Gaming Show 2024

Efforts to enhance collaboration in the gaming industry are underway, with the Ministry of Trade, Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Chennai, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia for India supporting local game developers' participation in the India Gaming Show 2024. This exhibition, held from March 14th to 16th, 2024, in Pune, Maharashtra, India, signifies a significant step towards expanding networks between Indonesian developers and international markets, particularly India. Consul General Eddy Wardoyo emphasized the potential for fruitful business collaborations between Indonesia and India, envisioning a promising future for the gaming industry's mutual growth. The India Gaming Show, hosting around 70 exhibitors from various countries, attracted considerable attention from industry players, showcasing Indonesia's presence and potential. Indonesia's four exhibitors, including Cakra and Gingersun, showcased their gaming prowess, not only displaying their products but also engaging in discussions with Indian counterparts like JIO Games and Vodafone Audio Games. These discussions aimed to explore avenues for cooperation in product development and market penetration, leveraging India's massive population, particularly in mobile gaming.


Highlighting India's population of over 1.4 billion, Consul General Wardoyo underscored the vast market potential for gaming products, especially in the mobile gaming segment. The presence of the Indonesian Game Association and the introduction of Indonesia Game Developer Exchange (IGDX) further solidified Indonesia's position on the global gaming stage. Additionally, the Indonesian E-Sport Team's participation in the E-Sport Grand Slam competition showcased Indonesia's commitment to competitive gaming. Nugroho Priyo Pratomo, Head of ITPC Chennai, expressed optimism about Indonesian gaming products' future popularity and their potential to become flagship export commodities. In conclusion, the Indonesia-India collaboration at the India Gaming Show 2024 marks a significant stride in promoting Indonesian gaming prowess internationally. With strategic partnerships and participation in global gaming events, Indonesia aims to strengthen its foothold in the global gaming industry, showcasing its talent and innovation to the world.
