On October 26th 2021, the Italian Business Association in Indonesia (IBAI) collaborated with the Ministry of Manpower, Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and SSEK Indonesian Legal Consultants held a special webinar series titled ‘the Implementation of New Regulation on Foreign Workers Permit in the Period of Handling the Spread of COVID-19’. The discussion involved the Representatives from the Ministry of Manpower and Directorate General of Immigration that informed several updates regarding foreign workers permit regulation during the period of handling COVID-19 in Indonesia.
The Representative of the Ministry of Manpower informed about the service process of the new Foreign Manpower Utilization Plan (RPTKA/Rencana Penggunaan Tenaga Kerja Asing) application is open with paying attention to several criteria according to with the latest legal basis include Covid-19 Response Acceleration Task Force Circular Letter (SE/Surat Edaran) No. 8 Year 2021, Regulation of the Minister of Manpower (Permenaker) No. 8 Year 2021, Ministry of Manpower Circular Letter (SE/Surat Edaran) Number M/11/HK.04/IX/2021. On other hand, the Representative of the Directorate General of Immigration informed about the update on immigration regulation mainly on visas and residence permits for foreign workers that refers to Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Permenkumham) No. 34 Year 2021 and Permenkumham No. 27 Year 2014.
We as the foreign chambers examined that this webinar has given us updated information on foreign workers permit regulation that is useful for all of our members and accelerates the economic recovery during the period of COVID-19.
