Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) is preparing for a bilateral meeting with Saudi Arabia to strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, clean energy, and water management. Scheduled for October 23, 2025, the meeting will highlight Indonesia’s support for Saudi Arabia as the host of the 11th World Water Forum in 2027, following Indonesia’s successful hosting of the 10th forum in Bali in 2024.
Indonesia plans to present several infrastructure and renewable energy projects, including an IDR 1.65 trillion irrigation scheme, the 7.4 MW Leuwikeris Hydroelectric Plant (IDR 256.9 billion), the 40 MW Tiga Dihaji Hydroelectric Plant (IDR 920 billion), and a mini power plant project valued at IDR 38.7 billion. The projects are aligned with Indonesia’s 2025–2029 strategic plan, focusing on sustainable development, green financing, and water resilience. The government is targeting investment from Saudi institutions such as the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and Public Investment Fund (PIF) through public-private partnership (PPP) models.
