The Indonesian Pavilion at World Expo 2025 Attracts Foreign Investment of USD 23.5 Billion

On 18 August 2025, Director of the Indonesian Pavilion Rahmat Mulianda stated in an official statement that the Indonesian Pavilion at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka has secured investment commitments totalling USD 23.5 billion in the sectors of sustainability, green industry, creative economy, trade, waste management, and tourism. As of mid-August, there had been 51 Business Forum and One-on-One Meeting events, involving investors, industry leaders, and governments from various countries. These events resulted in 9 MoUs, 9 LoIs, 1 JVA, and 1 Joint Statement. This achievement is the result of collaboration among Astra, Artha Graha Peduli, KAPPI, Pertamina, Barito Pacific Group, Royal Golden Eagle (RGE), Indofood, Japfa, BPDP, Garuda Indonesia, as well as ministries/agencies and local governments. The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas is committed to delivering the best and achieving greater impact in collaboration with these parties until the closing of the 2025 Osaka Expo on 13 October 2025.

From April to August, the Indonesia Pavilion served as a strategic platform for economic diplomacy and investment. On 13 August 2025, the Indonesia Pavilion recorded its highest single-day visitor count of 30,580. This latest figure brings the total visitor count to 1,906,296 since the attraction's opening in April 2025, reaching 68% of the target of 2.8 million visitors. The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, as the responsible stakeholder, ensured that the pavilion showcased Indonesia's tourism, trade and investment potential. The Indonesia Pavilion guided visitors through three areas: Nature, Culture and Future. It also hosted business forums and events, and showcased handicrafts, fashion and music and dance performances.
