Indonesia's automotive industry saw a strong start in 2025, exporting 70,212 vehicles in January and February, a 3.4% increase from 67,910 units in the same period of 2024. According to the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), these exports reached over 100 countries, with key markets including the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Japan.
Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPVs) remain the top export choice, particularly models like the Toyota Avanza, Mitsubishi Xpander, and Hyundai Creta. The Toyota Avanza led sales with 3,086 units shipped to the Philippines, followed by 2,697 Mitsubishi Xpanders to Vietnam and 2,611 Hyundai Cretas to the Middle East and Africa. Astra Daihatsu Motor also contributed, exporting Toyota Wigo and Raize models to the Philippines. These achievements reinforce Indonesia’s growing role in the global automotive market.
