LPEI has allocated IDR 524 billion under the Special Export Assignment (PKE) program to support pharmaceutical and medical equipment exporters. This funding aims to boost production and export expansion of vaccines, medicines, and medical devices like syringes. Acting Managing Director of Business Development at LPEI, Maqin U. Norhadi, emphasized that this initiative strengthens Indonesia’s pharmaceutical industry, enhancing its global competitiveness. Several companies, including state-owned enterprises exporting vaccines to over 160 countries, have already received financing, with private firms preparing market expansion across Asia, Africa, North America, and Australia.
In early 2025, LPEI provided working capital and investment credit to a syringe manufacturer establishing a production hub in Cikarang, supporting infrastructure development and export operations to over 30 countries. Data from the Ministry of Industry shows that Indonesia’s pharmaceutical and herbal medicine exports reached USD 639.42 million (IDR 9.9 trillion) from January to September 2024, reflecting significant growth. Maqin stated that the PKE program serves as an economic diplomacy tool, reinforcing LPEI’s commitment to strengthening the pharmaceutical sector and contributing to national economic development.
