Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto visited Pasar Baru Bandung ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, observing its vibrant economic activity. With approximately 3,000 traders and 20,000 daily visitors, the market remains a key economic hub, especially during the festive season. Although foot traffic is slightly lower than in previous years due to the rise of online shopping, Pasar Baru continues to be the heart of Bandung's commerce, offering clothing, textiles, and household goods.
During the visit, Bima Arya, alongside Bandung’s city officials, also inspected Pasar Kosambi to monitor food prices before Eid. He confirmed that food supply and prices remain stable, with sufficient stocks of essential items, including cooking oil, and no signs of fraudulent practices. Additionally, he noted that consumer purchasing power is well-maintained, reflecting a strong local economy. The visit concluded with a review of Eid travel preparations at Terminal Leuwipanjang, ensuring smooth holiday mobility for Bandung’s residents.
