The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Indonesia, Sudaryono, highlighted the growing potential of the country's ornamental plant industry to penetrate the global market, citing opportunities presented by international events. He emphasized the economic impact of ornamental plants, which have evolved from overlooked greenery to valuable commodities. “Subtropical countries are accustomed to flowers, but Indonesia’s tropical biodiversity offers unmatched uniqueness,” Sudaryono stated on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Indonesian Floriculture Association (PFI), Rosy Nur Apriyanti, noted that the FLOII Expo serves as a vital platform for Indonesia’s ornamental plant communities and associations. “Introducing new ornamental plant varieties directly to the public creates a more profound impression than through social media, making such exhibitions indispensable,” she explained.
Michael Bayu A. Sumarijanto, President Director of Dyandra Event Solutions, underlined the significant global potential of Indonesia's ornamental plants. He described the FLOII Expo 2024 as a strategic initiative to bolster Indonesia’s position as a leading player in the ornamental plant industry. Beyond facilitating trade, the event aims to showcase the distinct characteristics of Indonesia's tropical flora to a wider audience. FLOII Expo 2024 not only fosters commercial transactions but also strengthens Indonesia’s role on the global ornamental plant stage, marking a significant step in advancing the nation’s economic potential through floriculture.
