East Java Province managed to record investment performance throughout 2022 reaching IDR 110.3 trillion, an increase of 38.8 percent compared to 2021 achievements. The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa said this achievement was proof that the investment climate in East Java was very conducive and well maintained. "We continue to be committed to maintaining the investment climate in East Java so that it remains conducive and well maintained. So that investors, both domestic and foreign, will not hesitate to invest in East Java," he said, Monday (30/1/2023). "With this synergy and collaboration, East Java was able to exceed the targeted investment realization of IDR 80 trillion according to the RPJMD 2019-2024, and in 2022 it was able to fulfill 137.9% of the target," he said. The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) noted that investment realization in East Java in 2022 reached IDR 110.3 trillion, an increase of 38.8% (yoy). This achievement consisted of the realization of Foreign Investment (PMA) of IDR 44.9 trillion or growing 66.7% (yoy) and IDR 65.4 trillion of Domestic Investment (PMDN), up 24.5% (yoy).
There are 5 countries that contribute highly to investment in East Java, including the United States of IDR 19.6 trillion with a contribution of 43.7%, Singapore of IDR 6.5 trillion or 14.5%, Japan of IDR 5.9 trillion or 13 ,%, Hong Kong China amounted to IDR 5.5 trillion or 12.2%, and China amounted to IDR 1.9 trillion or 4.2%. Based on the realization of PMDN investment, during 2022 it will be dominated by the food industry with a contribution of 27.7 percent, followed by housing, industrial and office areas 15.4%, as well as transportation, warehouses and communications 13.6%, hotels and restaurants 7.2%, and chemical and pharmaceutical industry 5.5%. While the structure of the realization of the dominant FDI investment includes mining 40.3%, basic metal industry, metal goods, non-machinery and equipment 14.9%, food industry 12.9%, chemical and pharmaceutical industry 9%, and mineral industry non-metal 4.2%.
