The Government Speeds Up the Realization of 30 Investment Projects of IDR 360 Trillion This Year

The Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto continues to push for the realization of the National Strategic Project (PSN) whose value reaches IDR 360 trillion. One of them is solving obstacles related to licensing for investment. "The government will continue to carry out debottlenecking rather than licensing so that investments can still run well. The government is also committed to investing in 30 PSN projects in 2023. The estimated value is Rp. 360 trillion. It is hoped that all of them can be realized in 2023," said the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga. He explained that household and corporate savings in banks during the pandemic could be used to encourage investment opportunities. A number of private sector funds that are still in the banking sector are also deemed necessary to be encouraged so that net savings can be realized in the form of capital expenditure. In addition, several sectors that have positive investment growth such as energy, automotive, trade, health, manufacturing and consumption will also continue to be encouraged by the Government.


In order to optimize the condition of economic recovery, a number of policies have also been prepared by the Government such as boosting people's purchasing power, controlling the inflation rate, ensuring price stability and availability of several commodities, encouraging Tourism Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and pushing for revisions to the derivative Perpu Job Creation said that global economic conditions were showing a number of improvements marked by the controlled inflation rate, rising energy prices which were not as high as originally estimated, until there was a change in the Net-Zero Covid policy in China which provided optimism for economic recovery. Even so, there is still the potential for a looming decline in foreign demand, as seen from the World Bank's projection of a 2023 trade volume growth of 1.6%, down from 4% in 2022. Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto explained that in the midst of these conditions, the Government is trying to encourage domestic spending, consumption and investment, as well as several sectors that are expected to be able to trigger national economic growth such as the industrial and tourism sectors. Irlangga said, the positive PMI value proved that there was an increase in the level of consumer confidence. In addition, the industrial sector was also reported to have a positive Industrial Confidence Index (IKK) level of 51.54%, dominated by a number of sectors, such as tobacco processing, metals, electrical equipment, machinery, basic metals, food, transportation equipment, and the paper industry.
