Egypt is Now a Subscriber to Indonesian Coffee

PT Indonesian Trading Company (PPI) and PT Bhanda Ghara Reksa (BGR Logistics) have been merging for a year. A number of achievements have been made by this combined company."Currently, PPI is experiencing a very dynamic era in the process of business and cultural transformation to welcome the phase change towards digital, so that changes in behavior and business processes are needed towards an outside perspective (understanding customer desires), creative & collaboration and agile leadership," said the Main Director of PPI, Nina Sulistyowati in her statement, Sunday (4/12/2022). Throughout 2022, PPI will regularly export coffee to Egypt based on the agreed cooperation contract. It was recorded that PPI succeeded in exporting 237.06 tonnes or a value of USD 7.1 billion.

The coffee that is exported is coffee produced by local Indonesian farmers. PPI acts as a coffee off taker from farmers and as an exporter in order to continue to support the domestic coffee industry so that it can compete globally. This is supported by the availability of assistance programs for farmers and the provision of digital platforms in an effort to establish a coffee farmer ecosystem according to the direction of the Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir in collaboration with PMO Coffee and Agree through Telkom Indonesia. PPI also absorbs live birds from independent breeders in the West Java region as an effort to stabilize poultry and breeder welfare. Meanwhile, to support the stabilization of cooking oil prices, PPI distributes cooking oil throughout Indonesia in synergy with various government agencies. PPI together with BGR Logistik Indonesia distributes cooking oil directly to the market and through Food Stalls partners.
