Bali’s Export Value to France Increases 116% in June 2022

The value of Bali's exports to France in June 2022 rose 116.07% (mtm) with a trade value of USD 1.7 million. This value is much higher than in May, whose trading value was only USD 812,635. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Bali Province noted that the increasing value of exports to France was driven by increased demand from France for leather goods produced in Bali. Leather goods produced in Bali include shoes, bags, wallets, and Balinese souvenirs which are in great demand by European markets such as France. The head of the Bali Province BPS, Hanif Yahya, explained that of the five largest export destination countries, the increase in exports to France in June 2022 was recorded the highest. "In percentage terms, Bali's export value to France is the highest compared to the top four export destination countries such as the United States, Singapore, Australia and Japan," Hanif explained in a press release, Tuesday (2/8/2022). The export value to the United States remained the highest with a trade value of USD 16.8 million, followed by Singapore with an export value of USD 6.4 million, Australia USD 4.9 million, and Japan USD 1.9 million. Exports to the United States and Australia fell by 5.8% (mtm) and 2.2%, respectively. Then exports to Singapore increased by 2.7%, and exports to Japan increased by 25%. In terms of commodities, Bali's exports are dominated by fish, crustacean and mollusc products, which were recorded at USD 13.3 million with a share of 26.30% of total exports. Of the top ten export commodities, nine commodities recorded an increase with the highest increase in exports of various metal goods, which rose to 48.88%, which was exported to South Korea.
